Is a month too long?

September 30, 2008 at 6:25 pm (Different, Ireland, Metal, Music, Random, System of a down, sport) (, , , , , , , , , , )

I’m just wondering how o

ften I should update this, at the moment it’s whenever I can be bothered, but maybe I should put a schedule on it? (Also, I want to credit Sarah for reminding me to update this)

Anyway

The reason I haven’t updated in a while is that I haven’t really had anything that I really wanted to talk about, but I do now. :D

First off is my mate won gold in the paralympics! We just had a massive party and it was awesome, but it got me thinking about how I haven’t really achieved anything all my life. Or the things I have achieved aren’t realy that big a deal – I’m a drifter, but I love it. I love being able to sit back and watch people do all these amazing things and just think to myself that while I was in bed/playing video games, they were out training or studying their asses off and they’ll end up in some office job, same as me.

Is that too cynical? I’ve seen it happen, my dad did all he could to not do an office job, and he ended up as a manager in some company that pays him the same as he got when he was a joiner.

Oh yes, I want to show you this song, I love it a lot :D

Yeah, and what’s up with this credit crunch? I was talking to my ma in the car the other day about it and she was saying how it just kinda happened overnight.

How? Did the government not see this coming? Could we not have been warned at all?
I don’t pretend to understand the stock market or all these money related things, and I know that a lot of other people don’t either. I just feel really bad for the people who are out of jobs and have to sell their homes because of this.

Before I go, I want to thank James (@Wiids) for sending Metal Gear Solid to me, and I’ll get Splinter Cell to him as soon as possible.

Ps. I reckon I’ll start doing some features

I got a view! well, several actually.. :p

September 10, 2008 at 7:34 pm (Different, MSI, Metal, Music, Random, Techno, they might be giants) (, , , , , , )

It’s true, someone visited the blog and I’m feeling pretty good about it.

I’ve recently introduced Mindless Self Indulgence into my life and I’m addicted it their music! I love how they blend Techno and Metal/punk/alternative and make it actually sound good. The main singer is awesome! If you haven’t heard of them then watch this, your life will be changed FOREVER! *If it doesn’t, please don’t tell me . Thanks ;)

Another band I’m really into at the moment is They Might Be Giants because their music is so different from anything else I’ve ever listened to, anyway listen to this , although it probably won’t make as big an impact as that one did ^^.

There y’go, for now

There’s a couple of things I’d like to talk about today..

September 9, 2008 at 6:21 pm (End of world, Metal, Music, Random) (, , , , , )

Heyas to all!

Okay, today I’d like to discuss some things that have happened to me in the last few days.

First off, have you ever gone of a 3k race in the countryside, hard eh? Yeah, try that when it’s 4 or 5 degrees with the wind blowing ice cold rain right in your face all while only wearing a skimpy PE gear. Yep my PE coach is officially crazy, making us go out in that, half my year was off sick the next day and some were even off for a week. This shouldn’t happen, and I don’t mean PE teachers shouldn’t send us out onto a long country road in the freezing rain, I’m talking about how there shouldn’t have been rain there in the first place. Since when do we have winter conditions at the start of the autumn? Anyway, I won’t stretch this out, but damn, I think my balls froze off..

Second thing I want to write about is the massive “it’s the end of the world thing going about my school”

As I’m sure a lot of you know, there is going to be a massive experiment done tomorrow/Wednesday in Switzerland that is meant to recreate the big bang or something.. Now, there has been rumours flying about my school that this could go wrong by making a small black hole that will settle in the middle of the earth and suck it in, here’s something to read if your interested -

http://unitedcats.wordpress.com/2008/09 … wednesday/

From what I can remember, there has been an end of the world story for the last 3 (probably longer) years. Namely;

The 666 one in 2006

The end of the world cult 2007

And the one we have now.

I know they are all lies, but I just can’t help getting caught up in it. (It’s good fun after all)

Another thing I want to talk about is the average non-metal person’s view of metal.

Damn, if there’s one thing I hate about school, it’s all the haters. Haters of what? Haters of anything not mainstream. I’m talking about one person in particular really, he’s called matt and he is always going on at me about how Iron Maiden were formed in the 70’s so they suck, or how System of a Down are goths and are depressing (which they clearly aren’t, and he’s never even given them a chance). Now I don’t think it’s fair that just because I went out of the way to find a type of music I like instead of just listening to whatever the radio tells me to listen to that I should be disciminated against. In fact I reckon I should be appreciated.

=]

Anyway, I have no time to dwell further into that, but I’ll probably come back to it at a later stage, assuming that the world doesn’t end tomorrow

I <3 Xbox Live

September 3, 2008 at 7:23 pm (Uncategorized)

Seriously, I <3 Xbox live soo much. I love how I can talk to my mates while playing my favourite games and I love how I can download demos to the games I am going to buy, only to find out they’re complete crap and save £25. The reason I’m so up about live at the moment is that I joined a clan! Yep, we officially play 3 nights a week every week, but I’m on there with about 5 others every night and it’s really good craic.

Annyway

I’ve also been playing Brawl online recently …

..

..

..

It doesn’t compare at all, I go as far to say that it’s the worst online experience I’ve ever had, with the lag, being unable to communicate and it taking ages to let me into a match. I played maybe 5 rounds before I gave up… It makes me sad thinking about it =[

But to end on a high note - Schools back!

Wait... awww. Anyway, gotta wrap this up.

Bye people!

2nd post today, yah!!!

September 2, 2008 at 6:43 pm (Mario Galaxy, video games) (, , , , )

I just felt I owed it to the blog to have 2 posts.

I thought I’d talk about a little thing called Mario galaxy :P .

I picked this up way back when it was released, but for some reason I never really got what other people saw in it. I beat it and then stuffed it into my cupboard not to see light again ’till 2 weeks ago when I dug it out and slipped in in the wii. I started playing from where I’d left off (80 odd stars) and after I’d gotten 1 or 2 stars it sudenly clicked, I found myself comepletely hooked, just as everyone else had been last year. So anyway, I’ve beaten it fully with Mario and I’m at around 60 * with Weegee (luigi). I really love this game now, it’s comepletly magical with loads of levels that are constantly throwing challenges at you, but never seem to get old. So far I’ve never put it in and not had fun, yes, even in purple coin Toy Time galaxy (God, I thought that was a joke, how hard it was). So, I know that this isn’t really a review, but if I was to give this a score I’d give it a 9.5/10. Seriously, it’s up there with my favourite games ever.

Heya people!

September 1, 2008 at 7:50 pm (Music, Random) (, , )

Heya people, just made a new blog to try out wordpress..

Anyway, seein as I’m here I may as well talk about a few things.

So, I got a new maiden album (a matter of life and death, anyone heard of it?) and it’s really not what I expected. The only fast and memorable song is “Different World” and while I enjoyed the other songs, I have to say, they don’t really live up to the other Iron Maiden albums that I own. Anyway, it was entertaining enough and I picked it up for £6, so I’m pretty happy with it… I want to give it a few more listens (which will take a while because the album is 70 mins long) just to see if any of the songs are better the second or third time.
